PressPective allows you to compare high-resolution scans of printed material produced on different commercial printing presses. This viewer helps you examine the quality and characteristics of various printing technologies in great detail.
Getting Started
The viewer allows you to compare output from different printing presses side by side. Here's how to use the basic features:
- Layout Selection: Choose between 1, 2, 3, or 4 panels using the layout buttons in the header.
- Zoom and Pan: Use your mouse wheel to zoom in/out and click and drag to pan around the image.
- Selecting a Press: Each panel has a dropdown menu that lets you select which printing press to display.
- Synchronization: The "Sync" toggle in each panel lets you control whether that panel moves in sync with the others.

Side-by-Side Comparison
To compare different printing presses:
- Select a multi-panel layout (2-up, 3-up, or 4-up)
- Choose different printing presses in each panel's dropdown
- Keep the "Sync" button active to maintain the same view across all panels
- Zoom and pan to examine specific areas of interest
Print Artifacts
Toggle the "Artifacts" button to view annotations highlighting print characteristics and defects:

- ● Minor Issues - Small defects or characteristics
- ● Informational - Interesting features to observe
Print Information
Click the "Info" button to view detailed metadata about the currently selected press, including:
- Press specifications and technology
- Print settings used
- Media information
- Color management details
- Job specifics and operator notes
Tips for Best Use
- Click directly on a panel to make it the active panel
- The active panel is highlighted with a subtle glow
- Use the navigator in the bottom corner for quick navigation
- Toggle off synchronization if you want to compare different areas of the same print
- Press F11 or click the Fullscreen button for an immersive viewing experience
